About Isla Mujeres, Calle Tiburón, Punta Norte Lote 21-A, Sublote 1B

Price just reduced to US$524,000 from US$549,000

The award-winning beaches of Playa Norte, the local customs and colour of its local people, the overall serenity that runs counter to the glitz and glamour of Cancun, the turquoise Caribbean crashing against its rugged cliffs on the south end, where tourists go to view the ancient Mayan ruins: the tiny Mexican island of Isla Mujeres has largely been a best-kept secret for travelers up to now. That’s fast changing.

Captain Jean Lafitte – the renowned smuggler and pirate of the early nineteenth century – is rumoured to have used the island as his base operations. The “Prince of Pirates” knew what he was talking about.

Isla Mujeres translated means the “Island of Women”, a name that goes back to the early sixteenth century, when a Spanish slave trader traveling from Cuba named Francisco Hernandez Cordova came across its shores, just 13 kilometres from Cancun, looking for silver and gold. He found none of that, and he didn’t find inhabitants either, just temples, ruins, some gold artifacts and statues of naked and pregnant women, the Goddess Ixchel and her daughters and daughter-in-laws.

Tourists wandering around the seaside cliffs at South Point or Punta Sur can visit the Temple of Ixchel, which, as Mexico’s farthest eastern point, is the first spot in the country to see the sun’s rays every morning.

In later centuries pirates would stash their women on the island as they went off to plunder, then come back for them, another source for the “Island of Women” moniker. During the last century, and into this one, Isla Mujeres more and more built a name among tourists as a place of immense natural beauty, a quiet fishing village that runs counter to the touristy hustle and bustle. It’s got it all for travelers: a small but vibrant downtown, nestled next to its northern beach, resort hotels and world class snorkeling and scuba diving on the surround coral reefs, fresh fish caught for the local restaurants.

The beauty of owning a new home on Isla Mujeres is the fact it is not Cancun: here you head into town to enjoy the local island culture and colour, or the natural beauty the island has to offer, then hop in your golf cart and head back to your clean, fresh, contemporary luxury home.

It’s the best of both worlds.

Casa Elizabeth is a beautiful brand new home of fresh, clean, contemporary design, located in the southern part of Isla Mujeres, half a block from the beach, and 15 minute drive to downtown.

Its location is unbeatable since it was built on the highest hill of the island, so the house offers spectacular sea views from each bedroom and solarium on the second floor.

This home has everything you need. A spacious living and dining room area that connects the pool and terrace through sliding glass doors, flooding with natural light and giving a feeling of comfort and wide space. The kitchen is open and fully equipped with granite countertops and appliances included.

In second floor you will find 3 bedrooms with private bathrooms, all sea view. And in the top floor you will find a magnificent terrace of 600 Sq Ft which offers 360 degree views of the Caribbean Sea where you can enjoy the serenity and natural beauty of the southern part of the island.

The house is brand new, and recently furnished, ready to move in. The most important thing from the perspective of an investor is that it is ready to be rented as vacational rental and generate immediate income.
